What Where and How…

With this recording, I’m aiming to check out some ideas about repertoire and locations for performing electric guitar music.  The piece is the Allemande from J S Bach’s 1st Lute Suite and the location is the wonderful St Michael’s Church in Highgate, London. During the past 18 months, I’ve been experimenting playing guitar in an upright position, similar to the posture used for playing cello.  It’s taking me quite a while to get accustomed to this posture but it’s helping me to think about and overcome some of the physical tension and discomfort associated with the more familiar way of holding and playing guitar.
